MuslimName

A name from both parents

Combine the father's and mother's names to find a Muslim baby name. Only approved names with good meanings are suggested – no made-up words.

Only names already approved in our database are suggested. We never join letters into new words, because they can have no meaning or a bad one. Names scholars dislike or differ on are left out.
How it works

About the combiner

How does the name combiner choose names?

It compares both parents' given names with every approved name in our list. Names that begin like one parent's name and end like the other's come first, then names that contain a piece of both, then names made only from the parents' letters.

Why don't you create new names by joining letters?

A new word made by joining letters may have no meaning, or a bad meaning in Arabic, Urdu or Persian. A Muslim child has a right to a good name, so we only suggest real names whose meanings we have checked.

Are titles like Muhammad or Syed used?

No. Titles and family names such as Muhammad, Syed, Khan or Begum are skipped, and the parent's own given name is used. For “Muhammad Ali Khan” the combiner uses “Ali”.
