Israel (Israaeel) is the Quranic title of Prophet Yaqub (AS), so the meaning is fine, but today it is strongly linked to the State of Israel and is almost never used as a name in Pakistan, which may cause trouble for the child.
اسرائیل حضرت یعقوبؑ کا قرآنی لقب ہے، معنی میں کوئی خرابی نہیں، مگر آج کل یہ نام ریاستِ اسرائیل سے جڑا ہوا ہے اور پاکستان میں تقریباً نہیں رکھا جاتا، اس لیے بچے کو مشکل پیش آ سکتی ہے۔

۞ كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّۭا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ ۗ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
بنی اسرائیل کے لیے (تورات کے نازل ہونے سے) پہلے کھانے کی تمام چیزیں حلال تھیں بجز ان کے جو یعقوب نے خود اپنے اوپر حرام کر لی تھیں کہہ دو کہ اگر سچے ہو تو تورات لاؤ اور اسے پڑھو (یعنی دلیل پیش کرو)
All food was lawful unto the Children of Israel, save that which Israel forbade himself, (in days) before the Torah was revealed. Say: Produce the Torah and read it (unto us) if ye are truthful.
