Scholars differ on this name
Nu'ma means 'joy, delight'. Jordan Iftaa notes some scholars disliked it because a reply like 'Nu'ma is not here' sounds like 'there is no blessing here', the same reasoning the Prophet ﷺ gave for names like Najih and Aflah. This is a mild concern.
نُعمہ کا مطلب خوشی ہے۔ اردن کا دار الافتاء کہتا ہے کہ بعض علماء نے اسے ناپسند کیا کیونکہ 'نعمہ نہیں ہے' کہنا 'نعمت نہیں ہے' جیسا لگتا ہے، جیسے نجیح اور افلح والی حدیث میں ہے۔ یہ ہلکی کراہت ہے۔

سَلْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۭ بَيِّنَةٍۢ ۗ وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
(اے محمد) بنی اسرائیل سے پوچھو کہ ہم نے ان کو کتنی کھلی نشانیاں دیں۔ اور جو شخص خدا کی نعمت کو اپنے پاس آنے کے بعد بدل دے تو خدا سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے
Ask of the Children of Israel how many a clear revelation We gave them! He who altereth the grace of Allah after it hath come unto him (for him), lo! Allah is severe in punishment.
