Scholars differ on this name
Ya-Sin are disconnected Quranic letters (Quran 36:1) whose meaning only Allah knows; Dawat-e-Islami calls naming a child Yaseen (even Muhammad Yaseen) makruh, and Imam Malik disliked it. Other scholars, and Banuri Town's list, count it among the names of the Prophet ﷺ, so scholars differ.
یٰسٓ قرآن کے حروفِ مقطعات ہیں (سورہ یٰسٓ 1) جن کا اصل معنی اللہ جانتا ہے؛ دعوتِ اسلامی یٰسین (حتیٰ کہ محمد یٰسین) نام کو مکروہ کہتی ہے اور امام مالک نے بھی ناپسند کیا۔ دوسرے علماء اور جامعہ بنوری ٹاؤن کی فہرست اسے نبی ﷺ کے ناموں میں شمار کرتی ہے، اس لیے اختلاف ہے۔
